- Account & KYC data — name, business name, role, email, phone, address, tax ID, beneficial-ownership and identity-verification documents.
- Shipment data — origin, destination, commodity, HS code, weight, dimensions, value, documents, party details and tracking events.
- Payment data — billing details and tokenized payment instruments processed by PCI-DSS compliant processors.
- Technical data — IP address, device, browser, log files, cookies and analytics events.
- Third-party data — information from carriers, customs authorities, sanctions and credit databases.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate, quote, book, track, document and invoice shipments.
- To comply with customs, tax, sanctions, AML, KYC and other legal obligations.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorized access.
- To improve our products, train internal models on aggregated/anonymized data, and personalize the experience.
- To communicate operational notices and, with your consent, marketing communications.
3. How We Share Information
We share data with carriers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, warehouse and last-mile providers, payment processors, insurers, KYC and sanctions-screening providers, professional advisors, and law enforcement when legally required. We do not sell personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law.
4. International Transfers
IKEOCEAN operates globally. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our processors operate, under appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for transfers from the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
5. Data Retention
Shipment, customs and financial records are retained for at least 5 years (or longer where required by law). Account data is retained while your account is active and as needed to comply with legal obligations. Marketing data is retained until you opt out.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or object to processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights email info@ikeocean.comwith the subject “Privacy Request”. Certain data is retained for legal and regulatory reasons even after a deletion request.
7. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls, audit logging and regular vulnerability scanning. No system is 100% secure; you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials.
8. Children
The Services are intended for business use and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
