Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, Ike Matthew Ofoma witnessed firsthand how transportation limitations often became barriers to business growth. Products could be manufactured, customers could be ready to buy, but moving goods efficiently from origin to destination remained one of the greatest challenges facing businesses.

Before graduating junior high school, he was already assisting with bookkeeping and accounting within the family business. His passion for business, accounting, mathematics, and problem-solving initially inspired him to pursue a career in accounting with the goal of becoming one of the youngest chartered accountants.

A conversation with his father and older brother changed that path forever.

His father asked:

"Why do you want to spend your life counting someone else's money?"

His older brother introduced him to a newly established university program in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. Believing leadership, people, systems, and business development would have a greater impact, he changed his course of study and began a journey that would eventually lead into entrepreneurship, project management, logistics, supply chain, and global trade.

After graduation, he secured his first professional contract within a week and later launched his own logistics business.

Business was growing.

Then COVID-19 changed everything.

Like countless businesses around the world, operations were disrupted, trade slowed, and traditional logistics models faced unprecedented challenges.

What appeared to be failure became the foundation for something greater.

Instead of walking away, those experiences inspired a new vision for how businesses, suppliers, logistics professionals, service providers, and global commerce could work together through one connected ecosystem.

That vision became IKEOCEAN.
